Electrical Engineering Intern

Magna-Power Electronics, a Flemington, New Jersey based electronics manufacturer, is seeking a full-time summer Electrical Engineering Intern to support the company's engineering and production staff. The intern will work with seasoned engineers to improve production processes as well as support new research and development activities. Qualified candidates should be team players, have excellent organizational skills, be proficient with a computer, and have sound analytical problem-solving and documentation skills.
Specific duties will include:
+ Work with engineering and production staff to identify improvements that lower material and labor costs
+ Revising bill of materials (BOMs) to change materials and production workflow
+ Modify schematics and electrical drawings to generate new production drawings
Qualifications for this internship includes:
+ Enrolled in Electrical Engineering at an accredited university
+ Fully versed in Altium for schematic and layout and Gerber generation
+ Understands the printed circuit board (PCB) design process
+ Version control, database, and Autocad experience a plus
+ Working knowledge of modern automated manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM)
+ Familiarity with electronic components functionality and packing
+ Working knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits
+ Strong programming background with Python programming experience preferred
+ Familiarity with modern test equipment
+ Excellent verbal and written skills
+ Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Preference will be given to candidates with some experience in the electronics industry.
