Within our Electronic Development Platforms department, we develop and create world-class electronic common platform solutions used across ASML's business lines, ensuring commonality and streamlining development. To achieve this, we collaborate closely with our colleagues from DUV Electronics, EUV Electronics, Application Electronics and our external development partners, customers and global suppliers.
Your assignmentFor this internship, you are asked to investigate Vendor independent soft CPU to replace NIOS / Microblaze with HDL alternative such that designs can easily be ported to different vendors to increase flexibility in device selection and porting. With focus on RISC-V solutions.
This is a bachelor graduation project (thesis) or master apprentice internship with a duration of 6 months, for 4-5 days a week, starting as soon as possible. Latest starting date is in September 2025.
Your ProfileTo be a perfect match for this internship, you:
Have background in electrical, electronical engineering, software engineering or a related field.
Have knowledge of solid digital design basics and have some communication protocol knowledge.
Are experienced with the programming languages: VHDL and/or (System)Verilog.
Are a critical thinker.
Are able to work independently and to communicate in an effective way.
Other requirements you need to meet
You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
