Electrical Engineering Leader - Sustainability

The company’s capabilities include emergency response, engineering services, and turn-key installation and repair. Responsibilities As the Electrical Engineering Leader of the M.C. Dean Sustainability team, you will build a team and lead efforts to enhance the performance, safety, and reliability of electrical systems at various facilities. This role combines leadership and management along with expertise in power systems studies, power quality analysis, and electrical engineering to ensure electrical system health and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including facilities management, operations, and engineering, to drive sustainable practices while maintaining operational excellence and cost-effectiveness. This position will be a hands-on leadership role responsible for performing these tasks and developing an Engineering team to perform these under your direction: + Conduct energy audits, retro-commissioning, and optimization studies to enhance facility performance. + Oversee sustainability-focused retrofits and renovation projects, integrating sustainable materials and energy-efficient technologies. + Collaborate with engineering and facilities teams to align projects with sustainability goals. + Perform comprehensive arc flash studies to ensure compliance with NFPA 70E and OSHA standards. + Conduct short circuit, load flow, and coordination studies, analyzing electrical system performance for optimization. + Prepare detailed technical reports and implement safety protocols for electrical equipment. + Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability standards (e.g., LEED, ENERGY STAR, ISO 140001, NFPA 70E). + Manage certification processes and pursue green building certifications. + Prepare regular sustainability reports for senior leadership and stakeholders. + Explore innovative solutions, including smart building technologies, energy storage, and AI-driven tools. + Conduct cost-benefit analyses for sustainability projects and demonstrate ROI.
