Electrical Engineering Manager

One World Technologies, Inc dba TTI Power Equipment, has an opening in its Anderson, SC office for an Electrical Engineering Manager that is responsible for the development and refinement of the electrical aspects of the broad range of TTI's power tools products. Primary Responsibilities

The team that the candidate would lead has a wide scope, across all product categories, and includes both ends of the product life - from initial concept-stage prototyping to defective product analysis. The team operates as an auxiliary part of the Electrical Engineering team, responsible EE needs that fall outside the scope of ordinary new-product-development. The team is responsible for advanced (concept) engineering, quality improvement (FA to corrective action), value engineering (re-design for cost), other special projects (e.g., trade show demos), and can also be drawn into new-product-development projects as the need arises in our business cycles.

The priority and balance of these various tasks varies with business needs, so this role provide plenty of opportunity for impact and variety in work.

This team work alongside and supplements the new-product-development focused EE groups.

Key Responsibilities include:

Managed mixed project workload, assign and review work for group of 2-6 team members.You will be responsible for identifying and vetting new technologies and products that can be used to enable new-to-market products and/or enhance existing product performance or cost. This awareness is through direct communication with vendors, tradeshows, marketing, publications, teardowns, etc. Together, we can determine what degree of further study each opportunity represents.You will help locate opportunities to improve existing mature (production) products for cost or quality, and work with the VE team to validate and bring those improvements to production.As needed, you will perform failure analysis on returned product, attempt to determine root cause, and identify design improvements that could resolve the issue. Report findings and design improvement proposals to the quality team and assist them in the correct action process.As needed, we work on new-product-development projects as a supplemental engineering resource.Depending on team size, this role will involve a mix of management and direct contribution. The candidate should be prepared, able, and content in both roles.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Equivalent Experience2yrs+ hands-on design experience design with embedded systems, preferably with power electronicsPCB Layout experience in a professional setting, making real products.Fluent in embedded CExperience developing products for high volume manufacturing processes (50kpcs/yr -- 1Mpcs/yr)Experience interpreting marketing level customer level needs into engineering level specificationsExcellent interpersonal skills: Comfortable scaling information from the most technical (inter-engineer) to non-electrical and management audiences.Excellent business acumen - much of the role will be to find opportunities and determine which of the many opportunities are in the company's best interest to pursue.Able and comfortable to travel to Asia one trip per year
