Electrical Engineering Manufacturing Specialist

General program information and/or position overview.

         Leidos is seeking a highly capable and experienced Electrical Engineer with manufacturing expertise to join a team that’s manufacturing advanced products for military customers in our Lynnwood, WA facility. The position reports to the electrical engineering team lead and will support efforts related to the manufacturing of electrical hardware (circuit card assemblies, wire-harnesses, and sensors), supporting failure investigations, and providing expertise throughout the production process. The individual will collaborate with a team of engineering professionals to implement cutting-edge technologies and ensure the quality and reliability of electrical systems.

Primary Responsibilities.

Serve as the primary technical interface between electrical engineering team and manufacturing. Lead failure investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actionCoordinate changes to the Technical Data Package to meet program and/or customer needsSupport Obsolescence Planning and CoordinationReviews engineering designs for manufacturing feasibility and recommends changes, as necessary.Determines the manufacturing processes for assembly during new product development.Supports Production by troubleshooting technical issues related to process and components.Supports Production by participating in other duties as assigned to meet production expectations (Review and Control Boards).Identifies, prioritizes, and coordinates resolution of Production and Quality Assurance issues by involving appropriate personnel.Support engineering change orders - Bill of Material (BOM), Work Instruction, and process revisionsResolve issues in the factory or field with short-term and long-term corrective actions with the appropriate functional groups to achieve resolution. Drives follow-up actions to ensure issues are resolved

Basic Qualifications.. 

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field with five (5) years of relevant experience in electrical/electronic hardware design, integration and system level test and commensurate with primary responsibilities.Bachelor's degree required Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent5+ years of experience in high-tech industry environment in service, development, or manufacturingAbility to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.Experience working with suppliers and leading suppliers during failure investigationExperience with developing engineering estimates for production planning and reviewing suppliers' estimatesDemonstrates professional and successful communication skills (verbal/written) with strong, effective interpersonal abilities.Able to comprehend electrical schematics and wiring diagramsFamiliarity with wire, cable, connector, and harness design, with both crimp and solder terminations.Experience working non-conformance disposition of hardware for productionStrong communication and interpersonal skillsDetail-oriented with a focus on process and qualityAbility to travel approx. 10% of time domestically

Preferred Qualifications.

Active Secret Clearance or abovePrior experience of in production processes, Failure Investigation, Root Cause and Corrective ActionsFamiliarity with Altium Designer or similar circuit design tools.Prior experience with circuit card assembly manufacturing processesStrong background in cross-discipline systems engineering practices including requirements development/maintenance, architecture, hardware/software design, integration, and verificationPrevious experience in a Material Review Board (MRB) role, particularly in a production settingPrevious experience with hardware development in the maritime environment including Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs) and associated electronics/hardware.

Pay Range:Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
