Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Electrical Engineering Technician to assist with the design, build, integration, and operation of electronics and instrumentation systems. The work supports systems development for an advanced highly efficient tiltrotor aircraft with applications in the defense industry and commercial transport. You will partner with Design Engineers to build, assemble, and test prototype electrical systems with complex cable and wire harness components, PCB assembly, integration, and testing. The role is highly concept and prototype-driven, and you will need to have enough experience to build prototypes from basic concepts without much guidance or fully drawn-out instructions.

ResponsibilitiesRead schematics, blueprints, engineering drawings, and sketches.Debug analog and digital circuits, and perform circuit board bring-up and testing.Assemble PC boards and solder components (J-STD or better).Build test/production cables and wire harnesses.Perform electronic flight hardware assembly, rework, and modification.Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform mechanical installations.Develop and use test equipment for circuit board testing.Essential SkillsExperience with avionics component integration and installation.Ability to build test/production harnesses and read schematics.Proficient in soldering SMT and through-hole components (J-STD).Experience with circuit board bring-up and testing.Ability to build cables with commercial/military connectors.Additional Skills & QualificationsAnalog and digital circuit debugging.Understanding of motor and servo development (up to 20 kW) is a plus.Understanding of power electronics (up to 300VDC) is a plus.Work Environment

Our company develops and manufactures fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, including manned and unmanned tiltrotors. We are actively developing our Optimum Speed Tilt-Rotor (OSTR) and other technologies for transport applications. We are a small company with about 48-50 people and maintain a laid-back, family environment. While we gear up on hours as projects approach deadlines, we strive to maintain a positive work environment and avoid becoming too hectic. As a small company, team members wear multiple hats and collaborate heavily. The innovative R&D and prototype work are funded by the ARMY, and our new program for rotor blades and wind tunnels has increased our funding. We are expanding into a new property in Lake Forest to house a long-term wind turbine program related to large composite wind turbines under a government contract.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00
