Our client is a leading multinational construction and engineering contractor, headquartered in the USA and operating across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East. With a global workforce of over 9,000 and an annual turnover exceeding €6 billion, they specialise in delivering high-tech projects across key sectors, including data centres, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, photovoltaics, battery plants, and specialty chemicals. They provide a full turnkey service, covering design, construction, and handover, encompassing civil, structural, and architectural (CSA) works, mechanical and electrical (MEP) systems, and commissioning.
The need now exists for an experienced Electrical Estimator who will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical components of projects including analysing project specifications and drawings, obtaining, and reviewing supplier quotes.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Lead all the Estimating functions including tender management, post contract negotiation and management of supplier/ subcontractor chain.
Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand the scope of work, materials required, and project constraints.
Develop detailed cost estimates for the project including materials, labour, equipment & subcontractor services.
Collaborate in the full tender process from inception to completion.
Preparation of bid prospects ready for presentation to project managers.
Prepare subcontract quotes and ensure compliance with the project specifications.
Participate in meetings both internal and client based and contribute to the best of your knowledge.
Accomplish the take-offs from tender drawings.
Identify potential risks & uncertainties in project estimates and develop solutions to eliminate risks.
Keep updated on market conditions, trends & pricing for materials & labour.
Degree or equivalent in Construction Management/Quantity Surveyor.
Proven record of accomplishments as electrical estimator within construction with focus on data centre and pharmaceutical projects.
Dedicated team player with excellent interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
Proven knowledge in estimating principles, practices, technologies, and best practices.
Excellent negotiation, communication, leadership, & interpersonal skills.
Knowledgeable in estimating software & tools.
