Electrical Field Maintenance and Automation Engineer
Job Description SummaryElectrical Field Maintenance and Automation Engineer will provide support, technical expertise and engineering solutions to support the metals business within the Power Conversion. In this role, you will own the resolution of post-sales technical customer issues at customer sites with accuracy, quality, and timeliness in order to meet customer needs and business goals.

Roles and Responsibilities

Support trouble shooting of installed products at customer site, including accurate and timely settlement of all warranty claims from assigned customersExecute on site project management and technical leader duties to resolve customer issues and provide customer satisfactionCoordinate additional opportunities to serve the customer with the customer service team, parts, other FSE’s, repair services, sales, and product engineering teamsAdvise the customer of recommended upgrades, parts, and service opportunities to improve customer productivity and sell GE parts / servicesCoordinate maintenance activities for the customer and plan for inspectionsProvide support to engineering teams working on customer CMU’s projectsPerform other related engineering tasks to facilitate proper commissioning and customer satisfactionProvide on call support in response to customer calls for serviceEnsure appropriate response and service is provided to customerComplete timely service reports and other administrative requirements

Required Qualifications

Associates from an accredited university or Institution Associate'sMinimum of 5 years of experience within an engineering environmentPrevious PLC Programming experienceMinimum of 2 years of experience with (automation, AC & DC drives, AGC and Level 2)

Desired Characteristics

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or collegeAbility and willingness to travel and work overtime, as requiredAbility and willingness to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and/or US PassportElectronics, electrical and/or mechanical trouble shooting skills (hands-on approach)Ability to learn software tool applications to support HMI and application changesStrong computer skills with familiarity with MS Office, TCP / IP configurationAbility to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawingsElectrical maintenance experienceStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong programming skills in ladder logic and function block PLC applications
