The general role of a Working Foreman – Electrical is to lead electrical work and direct the installation, maintenance, and repair of various electrical components within customer locations. 

 

This individual will work with both low and medium voltage electrical applications, and work in a wide array of industries including Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Coal, Wind Energy, etc. This position must be flexible and willing to travel with overnight stays and work extended hours as needed.

 

The Working Foreman will report to the Department Manager - Electrical and will work primarily out of their assigned location.

What You'll Do Plan and direct day-to-day electrical work as required for the completion of smaller, less complex projects and assignmentsCoordinate with management to ensure jobs are timely, on-budget, meet code requirements, and customer needs and expectationsLead teams in installing and testing new equipmentInstall, maintain, and repair electrical systems in industrial facilitiesRun a variety of styles and sizes of conduit and cable trays to electrical devicesPull wire to termination boxes, panels, and other controllers Install basic and more complex electrical components such as motor control centers, transformers, instrumentation, switch gears, PLC controls, etc.Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues, systems, and components with minimal direction and supervisionDrive ground rods and install grounding gridsUtilize hand tools, power tools, and electrical equipment pertinent to the electrical tradeRead, follow, and mark up electrical code, manuals, wiring and circuitry diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and other electrical specificationsAssess jobs to determine material, tool, and equipment needs and provide guidance to other electricians as neededCoordinate with inspectors and other trades as neededProvide detailed paperwork and documentation to ensure accurate record-keeping, billing and inventoryMaintain a professional and courteous manner to answer customer needs and requests as necessary Communicate and coordinate with customers to ensure successful job completionIdentify potential value-added sales opportunities to increase company revenueObtain prior customer approval for any change orders and accurately track change orders through final paymentProvide ongoing feedback to management regarding employee performance, production, and placementProvide feedback and input for employee performance reviewsTrain and mentor personnel as required Assist other electricians with training and licensing test preparationAssist with interpretation and proper implementation of the NEC (National Electric Code)Lead and mentor electricians and electrical assistants

What You'll Bring 5+ years of electrical experience or equivalent/relevant education preferred Experience in Industrial Electrical requiredValid Driver’s License requiredPossess a Journeyman’s License (NM preferred) Possess comprehensive knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code), electrical theory, and AC and DC circuits Ability to utilize tools and diagnostic devices relevant to the electrical tradeAbility to read, interpret, and markup electrical drawings, circuitry, and schematicsMust be dependable; trustworthy; and possess a positive and productive attitudeDemonstrated leadership and customer service skillsDemonstrated ability to lead multiple projectsPossess basic estimating skills preferredAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingAbility to work well with others and act in a respectful manner towards co-workers and customers Ability to perform mathematical calculations accuratelyAbility to take accurate measurementsCompetent with Microsoft Software such as Outlook, Word, and ExcelMust understand NFPA 70e Electrical Safety Standards (Arc Flash)

Walk, crawl or kneel / use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders, stairs, or other elevated/ fixed structures for extended periods of timeSit/stand for extended periods of timeLift and/or move up to 75 poundsPerform duties on-site and underground at industrial locationsWear safety equipment: as per OSHA/MSHA/ANSI requirements including but not limited steel toed and/or metatarsal shoes, hard hat, required PPE for elevated work, fire retardant clothing, protective eye wear, etc.Be safety and customer-focused, without exception
