Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer
Senior Engineer - Des Moines, IA

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting operations through the RCM Execution Team by assisting their assigned business unit to achieve the plant's electrical indicators of safety, reliability, and cost, aiming to ensure safe operation and reliability of the entire electrical infrastructure for production. In addition, they will seek and implement technological innovations to improving efficiency and to update and extend the useful life of electrical and instruments installations.

Essential Job Functions:Perform duties in a safe manner, utilizing all safety equipment, and successfully completes all safety certification requirements.Works with Facilities Managers and vetted contractors to coordinate and conduct electrical system upgrades.Design and support new electrical projects and expansion of existing facilities.Perform audits and analyze risks in the current electrical installations and procedures and establish viable alternatives for correct application.Provide technical support to the plant maintenance department and execution colleagues.Identify continuous improvement projects and develop business cases in collaboration with plant maintenance team.Design Modernization Plans in cooperation with the Electrical Integrity and Strategy teams.Ensure that all ADM safety programs are implemented in the electrical facilities.Provide site support in case of breakdowns and/or safety issues.Participate in Root Cause Analysis with maintenance colleagues as needed.Coordinates with Electrical Strategy and Execution teams as necessary.Works with EHS audit teams to provide electrical SME integration in EHS safety audits.Support capital projects in order to incorporate safe and compliant design into new equipment and process.Acts as a generalist and stays flexible as to the needs of the business unit demands as it pertains to electrical infrastructure.Minimum Job Requirements:Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.Strong skills and ability to plan and prioritize effectively.Willing and able to spend time in plant areas (i.e. walk long distances, stand, climb stairs and ladders and move through close spaces) to understand and audit the electrical infrastructure.Familiarity with food safety and process safety managementUnderstanding of electrical systems and applicable industry codes and norms.Proficient in predictive and preventive maintenance.Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis, Cause and Effect.Proven ability to lead multifunctional teams.Strong project management skills.Excellent English written and oral communication skillsTenacity in pursuing objectives to completion correctly and on time.Dedicated team player with the ability to proactively change plant cultureEducation/Training:Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience preferredJourneyman or master electrician with 10+ experience in commercial, industrial , infrastructure, electrical project management, construction project management.Experience:At least 5 years of industrial electrical engineering experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment preferred.
