Stryker Instruments is seeking an experienced Electrical Lead to support New Product Development within our Neptune Product Portfolio. In this hybrid role, you will split your time between hands-on PCB design and development (50%) and leading electrical engineering efforts — including driving technical decision-making, guiding product architecture, and facilitating team collaboration. This role is hybrid with the expectation to be in the office 3 days a week in Portage, MI.

What you will do:
Lead design and development of electrical components, sub-systems, and/or systems for medical devices
Mentor others on advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts
Conduct, design, and select advanced prototyping and testing
Conduct technology exploration and influence application in the business
Translate user needs to design inputs/specifications and produce complex system-level designs independently
Independently make design trade-off decisions while meeting project timelines and product function requirements
Contribute to and execute customer-facing activities like voice of customer and customer-centric design in partnership with internal and external stakeholders
Lead efforts to create and refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History File
Work cooperatively with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management teams, both leading and influencing peers
What you need:Minimum Qualifications (Required):
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
6+ years of electrical engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Design experience in one or more of the following: mixed analog/digital design, wireless communication, motor control, mechatronics, wired communication protocols, electromagnetics, or power electronics
Working knowledge of EMI/EMC design requirements
Advanced understanding of complex component and sub-system design
Proficiency in advanced circuit and electrical system testing methods
Strong understanding of manufacturing and electrical testing methods
Familiarity with industry-standard technologies and ability to perform complex electrical stackups
