Electrical Maintenance Supervisor

This position will lead efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment. Supervise maintenance employees and activities including preventive and predictive maintenance of all site equipment.

Responsibility/Duties:

Supports and fosters safety and environmental compliance Possesses a personal dedication for safety, including proactive support of efforts to create a culture of safety excellence Coordinates with mill department managers, planners, and engineering team on reliability, maintenance, and capital projects Initiates and/supports work planning activity & oversees the work order flow to completion Assigns and directs daily activities of maintenance group and ensures on-shift performance meets work standards. Communicates expectations to employees and evaluates performance. Addresses individual or crew underperformance and takes appropriate action. Provides crews with needed equipment and training resources; provides guidance to foster individual growth. Assesses processes for effectiveness and helps to implement improvements in process and equipment reliability across the area of the mill by working closely with operations and maintenance personnel Demonstrates ability to manage and direct a team to achieve desired goals Provides technical assistance Familiar with reliability-centered maintenance practices & predictive maintenance tools, including but not limited to: vibration analysis, thermography, lube analysis, ultrasonic analysis & failure analysis techniques Provides information and training on OSHA rules and regulations and additional site procedures such as equipment guarding, burning/welding permits, lockout, safety harnesses, scaffolding and vessel entry. Establishes and maintains preventive maintenance schedule to minimize downtime Manages service contracts and contract labor projects Works with production Department to plan major outage work. Assist in producing efficient work schedules for daily, field day, and annual outage work Communicates with Production Department to identify equipment issues Frequent walking, climbing ladders & stairs; crawling into confined spaces; measure/lift/carry objects of varying weights Exposure to dust, heat, dirt, grease, chemicals, noise, various weather conditions & other industrial environments Use of PPE & respiratory protection is required Able and willing to support the demands of a 24/7 operation

Qualifications/Education/Skills:

High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Maintenance Department in Paper Mill Possess strong verbal and written communication skills and teamwork skills. The ability to achieve results by influencing others in support of the overall business. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Practical knowledge of installation and troubleshooting of industrial electrical equipment and systems, including, but not limited to, power distribution equipment (switchgear, breakers, capacitors, load sharing), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS) and variable frequency drives (VFDs). Ability to read work instructions, technical drawings, and schematics Safety & team oriented with a good work ethic, positive attitude & the ability to lead a crew of mechanics to complete assigned task Experience with SAP or similar system which includes Plant Maintenance Management Processes Reliability centered maintenance training Pulp and Paper experience Presentation Skills – able to present to individuals and groups Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work shifts, weekends and holidays Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, participating in professional societies

Accountability:

Ability to demonstrate mill reliability improvement via key metrics.

Ability to prepare projects for implementation and construction, and oversee projects from concept to completion within financial and time budgets

As part of the Maintenance and Engineering team, shares in the responsibility of providing weekend and off-hour availability to support maintenance needs as well as startup support from planned and unplanned shutdowns.
