Position Title\: Electrical Maintenance Technician

Location\: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO

Relocation Assistance\: None available at this time

Remote/Telework\: NO - Not available for this position

Clearance Type\: DoD Secret

Shift\: This position is for a day shift electrician that works 8 hours Monday through Friday and covers a weekend every four to five weeks.

Travel Required\: Up to 10% of the time

Description of Duties\:

The Electrical Maintenance Technician supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will\:

 

·         Work in a team environment using Windows-based work order system for tasking.

 

70 to 80 percent of daily duties will include Electrical System Validation and Verification activities including the following\:

·         Coordinating with internal and external customers prior to V&V efforts

·         Circuit tracing, Visual inspection, Load banking, De-energizing and re-energizing circuitry depending on risk assessment

·         Configuration management activities such as documentation of as-built condition using CAD drawings and panel schedules

 

20 to 30 percent of daily duties will include\:

·         Perform circuit component repair and/or replacement.

·         Troubleshoot system circuitry problems.

·         Perform infrared scanning of circuitry panels and switch gear for overheating at connections and for other anomalies.

·         Perform other maintenance duties such as routine rounds to all mechanical and electrical rooms; operating and understanding the uninterruptible power system (UPS - Eaton mfg.).

·         Respond to any, and all, performance related anomalies on facility systems.

 

The successful candidate will\:

·         Be able to work well with others in a team environment.

·         Have a strong understanding of PPE and NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Practices.

Basic Requirements\:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience\: HS Diploma (or GED) and 1 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 0 years of general experience.

 

·         Must have 2 years of experience involving electrical systems and equipment and general O&M experience with other building systems.

·         Must have a current Colorado Journeyman Electrical License.

·         Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

·         Must have, or obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

·         Must be detail oriented and organized in order to accurately capture as-built conditions

 

Desired Requirements\:

 

·         Previous Maintenance or Service Truck experience

·         Familiarity with\: - Eaton Power Monitoring Systems

·         Maximo work order system

·         Siemens HVAC controls

·         Familiarity with 12470 volt down to 24 volt power systems

·         UPS Systems

·         Previous experience in a data center or DOD Mission related Operational facility

 

This position is expected to pay $28.60 - $39.18 per hour and has a $2,000.00 hiring bonus; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
