The Instrument Operations Network (ION) at Roche delivers reliable and innovative in-vitro diagnostic instruments to our subsidiaries and customers worldwide. We produce a broad range of devices, from point-of-care instruments to large laboratory systems, operating from five strategic locations: Mannheim, Ludwigsburg, Tucson, Rotkreuz, and Suzhou.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Engineer Technical Supplier Manager (m/f/d) to join our team. The Technical Supplier Management department is part of the Instrument Operations Network (ION) Global Operations at Roche Diagnostics International (RDI) in Rotkreuz. This department is responsible for delivering critical healthcare products worldwide, particularly in relation to the development and production of diagnostic instruments.

As a Technical Supplier Manager (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the quality and cost structure of instrument components and materials at Roche Diagnostics. You will manage the technical aspects of external suppliers and act as a bridge between relevant internal departments. Your expertise will support suppliers, and you will coordinate external partners in implementing component changes.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Assessment and Development
Conduct technical audits, evaluations, and improvement initiatives to ensure stable supply chains.

Quality and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality standards while identifying and managing supplier risks.

Project and Transfer Management
Lead and coordinate supplier integration projects, product and supplier transfers, and optimization of existing supplier relationships.

New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Care
Support the launch of new products and continuously improve existing products in collaboration with suppliers.

Communication and Collaboration
Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and regularly report and present to project leadership teams.

Contract Management
Assist in negotiating, managing, and ensuring adherence to supplier contracts and service agreements.

Technical Support and Continuous Improvement
Address technical issues and implement best practices to optimize supplier performance.

Your Profile

To succeed in this role, you bring the following qualifications:

Education

Degree in a technical field (Master’s or Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Sciences, or Industrial Engineering).

Experience

5–7 years of industry experience in fields such as equipment manufacturing, machinery, or electronics.

R&D experience is an advantage.

Several years of experience in project management.

Solid background in technical supplier management or a similar role with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Skills

Strong analytical and methodological abilities; familiarity with ISO 13485 is a plus.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Proven interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders across cultural and geographic boundaries.

Languages

Proficiency in both written and spoken English (C2 level).

Additional language skills are an advantage.
