Electrical Operations Manager

Position Overview: The Electrical Operations Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of Commercial and Industrial Projects within the Charlottesville Electrical Department. This role will be involved with the day-to-day activities within the department including assisting/mentoring PM's, creating and maintaining department budgets, workforce planning, safety, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
+ Model, promote, and ensure all Charlottesville partners know Moore's Vision, Mission and Values and strive to live by these principles.
+ Ensure protection of all Charlottesville partners by making safety our top priority and executing well on all protection lead measures.
+ Manage respective budget and P&L for the department.
+ Work with VP of Projects Division to develop annual budgets.
+ Attend and actively participate in department specific Strategic Planning meetings and activities developing, communicating, and executing strategic objectives.
+ Conduct regular one on one's and invest in leadership development for all leaders.
+ Champion a continuous improvement culture by working with Continuous Improvement Coordinators and teaching your team to apply principles, including monitoring KPIs and implementing countermeasures in all critical areas of the business.
+ Work closely with Preconstruction to identify new opportunities, build customer relationships, champion customer experience, create a feedback loop and constantly improve accuracy of estimates.
+ Hold weekly meetings with department leaders and quarterly team meetings.
+ Work closely with other Projects Department Managers, as well as other Moore's department leaders to ensure good teamwork and consistency between functional areas.
+ Attend peer group meetings and utilize other resources to ensure our team is learning and applying industry best practices.
+ Active involvement and effective utilization of VDC and Prefabrication.
+ Responsible for review and assignments of captured projects.
+ Make final decisions on truck and tool assignments and purchases for the Charlottesville group.
+ Review and approve job setups and budgets.
+ Approve merit increases for all partners in your respective department.
+ Attend monthly EAC meetings and report on your respective department.
+ Determine staffing size and labor balance that aligns with business development and department growth goals.
+ Complete and maintain a monthly backlog spreadsheet.
+ Attend Preconstruction Upcoming Projects meetings and actively engage in project bid decisions, including final margins.
+ Develop strong relationships with owners, GCs, vendors, and subcontractors.
+ Review, negotiate and approve contracts.
Requirements:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management and/or 5+ years of construction site management experience.
+ Thorough understanding of project management, financials and estimating process.
+ Ability to read construction documents including drawings
+ Above average computer skills with the ability to learn new software efficiently
+ Above average conceptual ability while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
+ Possess excellent leadership skills
+ Ability to work independently with a teamwork mentality
