Your work environment at EXP


The Electrical Power System Engineer will report to the Engineering Department leadership staff.


What a day at EXP has in store for you

Create and review coordination, grounding, lightning, arc flash, and short circuit studies. Coordinate electrical designs with utilities. Develop electrical protection systems, including protective power relay settings. Interact with other engineering disciplines, designers, and departments throughout the company. Develop working knowledge of IEEE, NFPA and other industry standards. Prepare specifications and technical reports.

 

What your experience looks like

A Power System Designer with four years of professional experience, or an engineer holding a degree in electrical engineering. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). Proficient with ETAP and SKM. Exceptional organizational skills and an ability to meet deadlines. Ability to set up, program, and oversee testing of new and installed electrical equipment. Basic AutoCAD skills - capable of developing one-line diagrams and 2D drawings related to electrical power systems. Ability to communicate and work effectively as a team member in an engineering environment. Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of software. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Prefer a minimum of (4) years of experience in the design of electrical power systems based on a solid understanding of the current National Electrical Code. A background in protective relay coordination and arc flash analysis would be very helpful in this role.
