Trek Bicycle is looking for a dynamic, driven leader who can support electrical compliance development for our various products. Should have a strong desire to be part of a new frontier for electric mobility and technology. The ability to research, interpret, and create necessary strategies to meet applicable regulations is essential. Must be a self-starter who can identify solutions to the Company’s needs with little instruction. This person will report to the Product Compliance Manager and must be able to work cross-functionally to ensure we successfully meet the relative regulations in requested sales markets. The ideal candidate should have a professional working application of the English language.
Areas of Focus:
Battery powered ITE-type device complianceElectric bicycle and component complianceWireless (BLE, ANT+) and EMC complianceRegulatory knowledge pertaining to manuals, labels, and packaging Electrical certification in global marketsSpecific Skills or Knowledge:
Possess strong investigative research skills and ability to understand regulations and standardsAbility to present and communicate legal and technical details to a wide audienceCollaborate with engineering to identify and implement product compliance requirementsWork with Trek suppliers and participate in clear direction and knowledge growthWork with global subsidiaries and suppliers in product testing, certification, and type-approvalAssist in coordinating third-party testing in global labs and support investigation of failuresOrganize/maintain documentation for compliance (e.g. certifications, test reports, technical files, etc.)Experience with Radio equipment approvals (FCC, IC, EU RED, KCC, Japan Radio Law, CMIIT, etc.)Understanding of electrical product safety topics (current and emerging regulations)Experience working with standards development (ASTM, ANSI, IEC, ISO, etc.)Ability to assist product development teams with compliance budgets and schedulingDevelopment of compliance strategies to reduce costs and time to marketGeneral Skills or Knowledge:
Manage multiple projects at the same time; prioritize and possess a sense of urgencyExcellent communication skills, with the ability to handle complex issues and provide clear, actional adviceAbility to function effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and objectivesProficient in Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint)Possible international travel and participate with international standards developmentTraining: Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree preferred but will consider candidates with equivalent experience.
