     *The primary work location for this position is Arkansas Nuclear One (Russellville, Arkansas). *

 

Job Summary/Purpose

Responsible for design engineering modifications for major Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) and Electrical projects at Arkansas Nuclear One (ANO).  Provides support to plant design basis. Design integrity maintained through effective configuration control of design output documents (i.e., specifications, calculations, drawings, test requirements and procedures).

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Maintains design basis for each site and supports maintenance of the licensing basis. Provides cost-effective modification designs to improve plant performance. Provides technical support to operations, maintenance, engineering, and other site organizations. Supports safe, reliable operation by identifying and effectively resolving issues via corrective action and work management processes. Develops engineering products in accordance with defined standards and procedures. Serves on outage engineering support teams.  Attends training and maintains qualifications necessary to perform required group function. Supports/Leads/Follows change management process for any potential design changes. Assists Contractor and Vendors during design and construction to resolve technical questions, and interfaces. Participates in contractor/vendor selection process with a specific goal of assessing engineering experience, competencies, and capability. Performs/Manages Owner Acceptance Review (OAR) of engineering design to assure compliance with the contract, permits, codes, and utility standards while ensuring design supports the strategic, operational and maintenance goals of the project. Supports/Leads, as Responsible Engineer (RE), cross-functional team consisting of internal Subject Matter Experts, Owners Engineers, Engineer of Choice (EOC) Contractors and Technical Consultants from development of Engineering Change Package (EC) through planning, implementation, and Closeout. Supports Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) of design products.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required for the position:

B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or another closely related scientific discipline/physical science generally associated with power plant operations or equivalent experience (equivalent experience defined as demonstrated success at the engineer/technical specialist level).

 

Minimum experience required for the position:

Engineer, II: 2+ years of experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level. Engineer, III: 4+ years of experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level. Engineer, Sr: 6+ years of experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level. Engineer, Sr Lead: 10+ years of experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level. Highly Desired: at least 3 years of experience in a commercial nuclear power plant.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position:

Good to excellent communication skills. Experience / proficiency in PC use and applications, depending upon engineering level.
