Who will you be working with?

You'll be joining our innovative Wabtec Bus Solutions division, a team dedicated to developing leading systems for the Transit Bus & Rail industries including eBus charging systems, innovative passenger door systems, access ramps, and wheelchair lifts. Our group combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of product requirements to deliver industry-leading solutions, lasting value to our customers, and cutting-edge technologies that shape the future of public transit.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Wabtec Bus Solutions division, you will have both technical and project management ownership for the development of electrical and electro-mechanical products, with focus on eBus product lines of charging systems.  As an integral part of the Bus Solutions Engineering team, you will drive product development from concept through manufacturing, both as an individual contributor and a project lead.  Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor - Electrical Systems, you'll contribute significantly to the team's success in developing innovative electrical based solutions for the transportation industry.

Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or similar engineering (ABET accredited)Advanced degrees/certifications a plus7+ years of relevant experienceExperience in electro-mechanical systems development in automotive or transportation including EV charging, high-power transmission, AC/DC, & pantograph systemsKnowledge of NPD Stage Gate for systems and componentsMid-level project management expertiseExperience in FMEA, DFM, 8D’s, Lean Six Sigma, APQP, & PPAP a plusFamiliarity with transit/charging industry standards and regulations (ADA, APTA, NHTSA, UL2251, UL355)

What will your typical day look like?

Project manage and collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, engineering, sourcing) to develop optimal eBus charging product solutions that meet customer technical requirements and specificationsWork closely with design teams in Germany and India to refine and optimize product designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., UL, SAE J3105)Partner with sourcing to identify cost-effective, compliant parts and components, and maintain accurate Bill of MaterialsDrive Engineering Change Orders to improve designs, reduce costs, and optimize productionAdapt products for the U.S. market in coordination with global engineering counterparts

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between

$67,400.00-$96,000.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
