We are looking for Electrical Construction Project Manager to support critical facility construction projects. The Electrical Construction PM will be responsible to do it all as this is a new office location that the company has recently opened. This PM will run this office, manage projects from cradle to grave: estimates, run project to completion, handle procurement, and provide support post implementation.  They will handle all aspects of managing a data center construction project and this will include providing leadership to contractors and vendors associated with the delivery of company's electrical projects. Project assignments for the most part will be regional to the Raleigh area. The candidate will have overall responsibility for the delivery of assigned projects on budget on time and assurance that the project scope and quality meet Company Design Standards and the objectives set for the project. The successful candidate will have to be exceptionally organized and be great with back-office work (change orders, budgets, process driven, etc.). Ideal candidate has come up the ranks in Electrical trades on the commercial side of business.

Responsibilities:

Project focus will be in 3-5 mm range and focus will be on upgrades, retrofits, and swap out of electrical equipment in a live / production settingData Center projects will be the focus, but work will include other Industries as well: Healthcare, Education, Industrial, etcRespond to RFPs, RFIs to generate regional work in Raleigh areaGenerate estimates, prepare and review project proposals or plan to determine and establish a time frame, work plan, funding limitationsProcedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various project phasesMaintain all logs required to track the progress of the projectOversee the project through administrative direction of on-site supervision to ensure the project is built following design, budget, and schedulePut together Project plans – size up, costs, budget, scheduling, timeline, forecasting, track expenses, manage change orders, etc.Maintain liaison with various contractors and vendors in order to manage the day-to-day activities that impact the delivery of company’s critical facilities construction projectsBe the point of contact with the clients onsite at the project location, represent the company in project meetings and any other contractors, GCs involved with the project, act as key Liaison with managers of all company departmentsChange Management Forms and Create Methods of Procedure (MOPs) Ensure that all day-to-day project responsibilities are met by the contractors and vendors on the projectManage multiple projects simultaneously. Negotiating contracts with vendors as necessary; Responsible for creating and managing project schedulesManage a regional team of suppliers and coordinate all deliveries of equipment with the Customer’s Construction Contractor.Lead the planning efforts in implementing manpower and managing the Integration of projects and timeline for Internal projects on Customer SiteDrive Company Standards uniformly as it regards to Project Delivery by all project participants on all projectsManage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income / expenses) to protect the company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the clientEnsure planning, laying out installing and wiring electrical components are completed per drawings, specs and in accordance with electrical codeOversee electrical installation of equipment and job performance on sites and ensure ongoing attention to work-site safety and standardsFollow OSHA standards with a huge emphasis of job site safety and adherence to company policies and national safety standards 

 

Qualifications:

Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects as a General ContractorExperience managing a budgetNC Electrical Unlimited License Required5+ years’ experience as a licensed journeyman electrician a plus5+ years of supervisory experience / People and Resource ManagementThorough knowledge of the practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools of the electrical tradeKnowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the workAbility to supervise the work of skilled workers and provide guidance and leadershipExperience interpreting blueprints and specifications - both electrical and mechanical drawingsExperience with Electrical Conduits / Power Systems such as UPS, Switchgear, Generators, PDU'sShould have a background or know what this means when conducting electrical installations to include things like: crown box, offset and slice junctionMinimum of 5-10 years relevant experience in the Data Center Construction IndustryBA / BS / Associates Degree a plus but not requiredClient Facing / Client relationship / Client Management skillsSolid Construction Project Management experienceEffective Communicator – emails, phone and face to faceAbility to successfully work independently; Self Starter, self motivated, and attention to detailTravel as needed to project sitesSolid Admin skillsOSHA Certification (or ability to get one within first 12 months of employmentFinance Exp- forecasting, budgets, etcComputer savvy: MS Project, Excel, Teams, MS Project, Oracle Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Procore,  AutoCAD a plus
Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus! Experience with Electrical / Mechanical: Navy nukes - EMN, ETN, MMNs, SeaBees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, etc.
