Electrical Reliability Specialist

Position Summary

The Electrical Reliability Specialist provides direction, coordination, and support for the daily execution of the electrical crew’s operating plan.  Working with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Engineer, Planner, Maintenance Technicians, Operations, and Safety, the Electrical Reliability Specialist takes the lead on providing availability of all necessary electrical resources across the manufacturing site.  This position drives department productivity and quality of workmanship for the purpose of increasing overall availability and electrical reliability of equipment.  As a key provider of reliability resources, the Electrical Reliability Specialist reports to the Workflow Leader.

Position Responsibilities

Implements strategic vision for maintenance and reliability to correct, coordinate, and support plant maintenance functions by:  (65%)

·    Utilizing advanced thermography tools and implementing plans to reduce breakdowns, improve planned maintenance, optimize scheduled maintenance, and effectively execute down-day events;
·    Maintaining the facility in a safe manner and to a standard level of equipment availability;
·    UE implemented for MCCs, transformers, and PDCs.  Implement, perform, and track PMXs for those assets.
·    Various motor testing (insulation and resistance) Milliohm meter checks for insulation resistance, LCR meter checks for inductance, creation and management of tracking system for historical data and repairs.
·    Managing all maintenance wash up days;
·    Ground testing of earth and machine grounds, creation and tracking of PMX and equipment routes.
·    Disconnects – housekeeping, circuit integrity checks (milliohms and inductance testing), inspections, and creation of PMX and equipment route.
·    Transformers – IR, oil analysis, maintenance, repairs, testing and inspections.
·    PDCs – IR, maintenance, repairs, and housekeeping
·    MCCs – cabinet condition PMs, (housekeeping, labeling, structural integrity, filters, seals, etc.
·    CMMS – creating and updating PMs, creating and updating task instructions, enter follow-up work requests for any findings that warrant corrective action.
·    Motor Repair – send motors out for repair, review failure analysis, implement corrective actions, acceptance testing of returned motors, and tracking of repairs.

General
·    Participate in RCAs
·    Lead and develop electrical reliability improvement projects
·    Plan, prepare, and execute electrical power distribution maintenance activities during shutdowns.
·    Oversee contractors’ work, including preventative maintenance, electrical construction, repairs, etc.
·    Provide technical assistance to maintenance and production departments. 
·    Maintain, expand, and improve the electrical preventative maintenance program.
·    Assist and/or lead plant electrical equipment upgrade/replacement projects.

Provides leadership to the Electrical Technicians by driving the development, implementation, and sustainability of a predictive and preventative maintenance system by:  (25%)
    
•    Performing and maintaining the work flow process (work identification, planning, scheduling, execution, and auditing);
•    Leading the continual improvement and integration of the CMMS into the maintenance and production work system;
•    Capturing and recording necessary equipment and material history;
•    Reviewing previous days work packages to check for follow up work and to ensure work orders are correctly closed out;

The Electrical Reliability Specialist balances priorities, manpower, material, and equipment availability to improve department and individual efficiency and performance.
Supervisory/Lead Responsibilities:
The Electrical Reliability Specialist provides leadership, mentoring, and has supervisory responsibility for all Electrical Leads and Technicians. 
Scope of Position: 
The Electrical Reliability Specialist supports all electrical and facilities activities. The Electrical Reliability Specialist works with the Planners and Maintenance Engineers to provide the best possible tools and programs to all Electrical Technicians.  Working with the Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Reliability Specialist drives the Electrical Department to increase reliability and availability of equipment.


Position Requirements

Education/Experience: 
Required: 

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or equivalent combination of experience and education.
•    3 or more years of electrical reliability experience in a continuous operating (24/7) manufacturing environment.
•    1 or more years of experience planning/scheduling through hands-on experience.
•    CMMS skills with MP2 or other type of program.
•    Experience with PLC’s, Wonderware, RSview, AB Drives, Siemens Drives, and Device net.
