Are you ready to take on the role of Electrical Supervisor for a major mining project in Kainantu, Papua New Guinea? As a key member of our team, you will oversee the electrical installation, design, commissioning, and engineering processes while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Role Overview
Supervision: Oversee site employees and monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance. Quality Control: Regularly inspect and evaluate workmanship to ensure it meets company and statutory requirements. Safety Enforcement: Enforce safe work practices and ensure all personnel are adequately trained and supported. Pre-Starts: Undertake and assess daily pre-starts on vehicles. Project Management: Keep the project on schedule and within budget. Reporting: Work closely with the site construction superintendent and discipline project coordinator. Compliance: Follow company policies, standards, and safe work procedures. Meetings: Attend and participate in Occupational Health and Safety committee meetings. Training: Conduct pre-start and safety toolbox meetings, participate in safety audits, and provide training and coaching to personnel. Hazard Identification: Identify and participate in hazard identification, assessment, and implementation of controls. Return-to-Work Programs: Assist with injury management and rehabilitation programs. Environmental Responsibility: Ensure site activities do not harm the environment. Equipment Management: Order necessary equipment and supplies. Teamwork: Promote teamwork and effective communication.Skills & Qualifications
Electrical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical calculations, installation, design, commissioning, engineering, construction methods and materials, codes and standards, and device loop testing. Supervision Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical supervision in mineral processing fields. Safety Focus: Ability to ensure design focuses on safety in construction, maintenance, and operation. First Aid Certification Statutory Positions Training White CardEducation & Experience
Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical supervision in mineral processing fields. Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred. Certifications: First Aid certification, statutory positions training, and white card required.Pay & Benefits
