Reporting to Engineering Director, coordinates the deployment and maintenance of new and existing electrical systems of the Hospital. Coordinates upgrades and installation of new feeds and systems while focusing on patient, visitor and staff safety. The electrical systems engineer performs highly skilled design and lifecycle management including responsibility for installation, maintenance and disposition of electrical systems.
Provides technical expertise and performs work in a number of areas including power distribution, heating, refrigeration, motors, fire alarms, networking, security, generator equipment, lighting, building automation system software, sensors and controllers, energy efficiency initiatives and similar technologies. Serves as a team leader or team member during the planning, design, construction, and operations of St. Mary Medical Center facilities. Assists project teams with life cycle cost assessments, contract review, cost estimating, design review, and commissioning process functions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science required; Associate of Engineering with 10 years of progressive experience considered. 3-5 years experience in computer technologies, building control networks, programming and documentation, building commissioning, electrical engineering, project management, sustainability, energy efficiency, energy management and/or continuous commissioning processes Possess working knowledge of current national electric code, fire code and life safety codes.
