Electrical Systems Engineer\/Technician

Rite-Solutions is seeking skilled and motivated Electrical Systems Engineer\/Technician candidates to support on-site at Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWCDIVNPT).\n

This position will provide direct support to the NUWC Code 34 Imaging ISEA and Submarine Imaging Systems National Maintenance Center (SIS NMC) Teams. Tasking will provide engineering and technical support for the ISEA activity, SIS NMC, and all Periscopes & Imaging types to ensure fleet readiness of Submarine Imaging Systems. Duties and tasking will include but may not be limited to those outlined below.\n

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nIntegrate, test, optimize, and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and radio frequency (RF) hardware and software associated with Submarine Imaging Systems.\n\n\nDesign system modernization and capabilities expansions to meet emerging Navy needs.\nPerform analysis for and development of Engineering Change Instructions (ECIs) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).\n\n\nPerform acceptance testing and measurements on various electronic and RF components and assemblies to verify system compliance.\n\n\nTroubleshoot and repair Imaging components via remote support from NUWCDIVNPT and\/or on-site platform support.\nCollect and assess technical data (such as RF data).\nDevelop and review drawing packages.\n\n\nCoordinate with the engineering team to support upgrades to existing Submarine Imaging Systems to meet data requirements.\n\n\nCoordinate and support technical data package development and delivery.\nDevelop and review test plans and test procedures\nPerform and\/or support integration and environmental testing events.\nPerform and\/or support factory acceptance testing.\nDevelop program status reports such as technical assessments, technical recommendations, or technical information.\nAssess current system capabilities against current and near-term needs and provide technical recommendations to resolve gaps by evaluating and resolving system failure reports, obsolescence and material support issues, and other inputs from the Fleet.\n\n

Skills:\n\nFamiliarity with electro-optical systems, i.e. cameras, lasers, and related equipment.\nFamiliarity with RF test equipment and systems, ideally involving antennas, amplifiers, filters, and signal distribution.\nFamiliarity in electro-mechanical systems.\nAbility to effectively work independently and\/or within a multi-disciplinary team.\nExceptional organizational & critical thinking skills, as well as an unwavering attention to detail.\nExceptional communication skills, both written and oral.\nAbility to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), meet deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.\nPosition may require up to 10% travel.\n\n

Requirements: \n\nBachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline and\/or Navy experience.\nFour to six years' experience in Optical, Electrical, Electronics or RF systems.\nCandidate must be familiar with and demonstrate knowledge of general-purpose and RF laboratory test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, Volt\/Ohm meters, power supplies, and signal generators. (Experience with the Keysight FieldFox handheld microwave analyzer is a plus).\nRead and interpret technical documentation such as wiring diagrams, system schematics, technical manuals.\nTechnical Writing skills are required.\nPrevious experience in operating and maintaining Imaging Systems such as ISIS, Type 8\/18 Periscopes, Photonics Masts, etc. is highly desired.\nPrevious experience performing Submarine Imaging & EW (I&EW) System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT) and\/or system groom & certification procedures is a plus.\nPosition requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret-level security clearance with the US Government. An active or very recent (inactive < 3 years) security clearance is strongly preferred.\n\n

Additional Requirements\/Skills:\n\nExcellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interface with technical personnel, managers, and customers.\nExperience in building customer relationships and communicating with integrated product teams\nExperience with process improvement methods, practices, and procedures.\n\n
