The role:

Amazing opportunity for an Electrical Team Leader to join our Above Water Systems (AWS) team based in Garden Island. You will work with electrical Supervisor/Manager to ensure the successful achievement of project Electrical requirements. You will Support the implementation of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality initiatives in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
 

Responsibilities will include:

Assist Supervisor with the day to day management of a team of trades and non-trades employees, ensuring high quality workmanship and OH&S compliance.

Provide technical guidance and assistance in support of business unit deliverables

Assist Supervisor with preparation of reports of a technical nature on tasks or assignments as required

Contribute and demonstrate with work planning, assist Supervisor with estimating and scheduling activities and ensure proficient implementation

Ability to lead of small multi skilled teams or other trades as required.

Administrative support of personnel management in line with Thales procedures.

Assist with Mentoring apprentices in Workshop and on-board ship skills.

Possess an overall knowledge and understanding of the operating principle on the systems and equipment on which the tradespeople are required to carry out tasks.

Familiar with all Electrical processes. Ensure continual maintenance and administration of team’s compliance qualifications in accordance with Thales requirements.

Ability to develop, manufacture, assemble and install from drawings.

Assist with ordering of Raw Materials and completion of requisitions or bill of material.

Assist with estimate jobs as required

Familiar with confined space requirements for self and team members.

Assist Supervisor with monitoring of work performance to identify development needs, guiding improvements in work performance

 How about you?

Hold an Electrical licence

Advanced Engineering tradesperson

Milspec Plugging, cable termination and Fibre Optic experience desirable.

Basic Rigging and forklift ticket desirable.

TAFE Certificate IV in frontline supervision or equivalent and or experience in a supervisory role.

Experience in Electrical engineering, preferred ship building, repairs or related will be highly desirable

Sound knowledge in commercial safety requirements and Work Health and Safety regulations
