Electrical Technician
**Position Opening: Electronics Assembly and Testing Specialist** **Location: Longmont, Colorado** We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electronics Assembly and Testing Specialist to join our advanced engineering team in Longmont, CO. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong experience in analog, digital, and RF systems who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. **About the Role** As an integral member of our technical team, you will contribute to the development and production of high-reliability electronic systems. Your responsibilities will include refining assembly procedures, executing precision builds, and conducting comprehensive testing to ensure product excellence. **Key Responsibilities** + Develop and maintain detailed work instructions for soldering, assembly, and testing processes. + Interpret complex schematics and technical documentation to guide accurate assembly. + Perform advanced soldering and rework, including surface mount assembly of components as small as 0402 under a microscope. + Construct and test multi-wire cable harnesses; generate Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and conduct verification testing. + Assemble and test RF hardware for both development and production applications. + Utilize advanced Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE), including VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes, to troubleshoot and validate systems. + Support rapid prototyping and integration of electronic components in a research and development setting. **Required Qualifications** + Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience with analog, digital, and RF electronic systems. + Proficiency in soldering and de-soldering using tools such as hot tweezers, hot plates, and reflow ovens. + Strong understanding of high-reliability standards and quality management systems. + Exceptional manual dexterity and attention to detail, with the ability to handle components and fasteners as small as #0-80. + Experience with RF circuits, antennas, and microwave systems. + Familiarity with TMDE and diagnostic tools for system troubleshooting and validation. **Preferred Skills and Certifications** + Experience designing RF PCBs and proficiency with Altium Designer. + Ability to manage multiple tasks across soldering, harness building, and system testing. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to prototype development. + IPC Certifications (preferred): + IPC J-STD-001 with Space Addendum + IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies) + IPC 7711/7721 CIS (Rework and Repair) **Why Join Our Team** We offer a dynamic and collaborative work environment where technical excellence is both expected and rewarded.
