Electrical Technician - Batteries Devices (E-Cigarettes and Vaping)
This exciting opportunity is a fully onsite role at our modern and well-equipped Morrisville facility in NC., with a schedule of Monday through Friday. As part of the team, you’ll focus on Wiring Devices, Industrial Controls, or other assigned areas, playing a key role in testing and evaluating products. This hands-on position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, passionate about electrical systems, and eager to contribute to innovative and high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. + Responsible for the setup and performance of equipment and test setups for clients. + Examines test samples and reads blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, measuring instruments, and operational instructions. + Follows basically defined test plans and datasheets. + Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results. + Records and explains test results and completes test report. + Builds and/or adapts setup and test equipment to new situations, based on data sheets and instructions from engineering department personnel. + Examines less complex customer samples and learns to operate appropriate tests for each case with necessary supervision/support. + Communicates with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation. + Operates designated machines and special laboratory equipment. + Initiates recommendations for new equipment designs and recommends solutions to observed test problems. + Operates with minimal supervision within defined limits of responsibility. + May plan tests, evaluate test results and report opinions and interpretations, as directed. Integrates basic continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job. + Communicates with management and technical staff to provide suggestions for new equipment, processes, and forms to improve accuracy and efficiencies. + Higher Secondary Education plus three years related experience preferred + Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers + Proven ability to be innovative and creative + Theoretical knowledge in Electronics + Desire to work in a team-oriented environment. Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must. Ability to incorporate automation into day-to-day testing. What you'll experience working at UL: + Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $40,000 and $56,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country.
