Position Summary
The Electrical Technician is responsible for assembly, test fixture design and build, debug, testing, troubleshooting and repairs of electrical components of fuel cell systems. This role requires excellent electrical and mechanical aptitude and teamwork skills. The role also requires close interaction with the engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure any issues get communicated and resolved in a timely manner. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment doing testing and troubleshooting on a variety of equipment. Mechanical experience would be an asset. This position will work with a team of New Product Introduction Technicians and report to the NPI Manager. Some travel to the field may be required.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Perform electrical/electronic component, subsystem and system level testing and troubleshooting, and repairs as needed.Hand assembly of a variety of harness components to be utilized in the manufacturing process.Read and interpret electrical schematics to produce harnesses based on these drawings.Design and build test Fixtures for manufacturing, for use with electrical/electronic components and subsystems; Provide training to users as needed.Assist with engineering investigations, tests and root cause analysis to solve component and product issues.Travel to customer sites on occasionPerforms other related duties as assignedRequirements
DC voltage - able to interoperate and read schematics and drawings provided,2-5 years of experience as an electrical technician or similar roleAssociates degree in a technical field or military certification is preferred.Excellent verbal communication skills – must interact regularly with groups such as manufacturing, and engineering, directly and also via email and phone.Strong written communication skillsAbility to fabricate electrical harnesses, cables and devices per wire schematicsAbility to use various handheld electrical toolsAbility to assemble and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systemsAbility to debug and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systemsExperience constructing and operating test stations used to test electrical assemblies, harnesses and cablesUncompromising dedication to qualityAbility to multi-task effectivelyExcellent follow-throughMust be driven and self-motivatedTeamwork oriented and focusedAbility to read Electrical schematicsExperience with battery and power systems a plusExperience with configuration management, document control and ECR/ECO processes a plus.
