Electrical Validation Engineer - Infotainment

Job Summary:

Polaris is seeking a Validation Engineer to work within the Vehicle Electronics and Software (VES) Organization with an emphasis on RIDE COMMAND Validation. The candidate will be responsible for working with both internal and external partners to develop plans, setup and execute validation tests. The validation will be further focused on the hardware and software aspect of Displays and Gauges subsystem for Polaris vehicle across multiple product lines.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The candidate should be able to handle validation of HW and SW, including simulation and/or bench/vehicle testing, including interfacing with technicians and/or validation engineers for test execution.Coordinating test execution with component systems leads and program managers.Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple component-level validations simultaneously and effectively.Be familiar with the Product Development Process (PDP) stage gate development. Interact with Program Management and the Product Team during PDP phases. Understand and align development to meet internal customer needs.Able to create and maintain the test bench setups and simulation scripts.Participate in HARA/DFMEA and Functional Safety discussions as applicable.Engage in activities such as failure investigations, root cause analysis, implementation of corrective actions, and lessons learned, and consequently update design standards.Interface internally with cross-functional Polaris Teams as needed to ensure that sub-system validation is met and to align release schedules.Analyze and review hardware/software requirements and provide review comments on unclear requirements.Support continuous improvement initiatives for Development and Validation.Ensure that validation is conducted in accordance with applicable processes/standards.Work in a fast-paced office environment with the ability and interest to work in a development shop/lab environment as needed. Some travel required (<20%).

Education, Skills and Knowledge:

B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering is preferred. Other engineering disciplines such as Computer Engineering with relevant experience are considered as well.3+ years of experience in design, verification, or validation of electronics, especially related to vehicle controls, displays, and communication equipment.Experience with communication technologies including CAN, Ethernet, USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, VHF, and Cellular.Experience with UDS and J1939 is Strongly preferred.Experience with DFMEA, SFMEA, and Functional Safety is Strongly desired.Familiarity with Agile software development methodology in the automotive industry.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced development environment.Experience in effective problem-solving and troubleshooting methods is required.Familiarity with requirements and test case management in any requirements/software development database application as well as configuration management is preferred (e.g., DOORS, Test Rail, CodeBeamer).Experience working with global teams and in project management is strongly preferred.

The pay range for Minnesota is $79,000 to $104,000 per year. Individual salaries are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
