POSITION TITLE: Electrician
REPORTING TO: Maintenance Supervisor
LOCATION: Pennsauken, NJ
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years industrial electrical maintenance experience. Formally electrically trained, with a minimum Journeyman’s Electrician Certification, or Associates Degree from an accredited trade school. Candidate must possess strong electrical trouble-shooting capability with direct experience involving Allen Bradley PLC5 and SLC 500 using RSLogix
Essential Functions:
+ Installs, alters, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring systems, fixtures, transformers and any other equipment related to electricity
+ Plans details of work by determining replacement needs or new material required and develops a logical approach to solve the problem
+ Analyzes circuits, wiring diagrams and drawing to install, repair, calibrate, service or replace electronic devices or systems.
+ Receives wiring diagram, specifications and instructions from supervisors covering emergency and scheduled repairs, installation, and electrical inspection work to be performed
+ Performs work requiring extensive knowledge of electrical theory and principles of operation of electrical equipment, statutory codes, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with all safety procedures such as LOTO
+ Services electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, PLCs and any other electronic equipment
+ Installs, repairs and maintains any cabling related to electronic equipment
+ Fabricates parts if not commercially available using machine and hand tools common to the trade
+ Acts as a consultant to Line Maintenance and Operators as to potential electrical problems and dangers
+ Notifies Supervisor of potential dangerous electrical equipment and takes corrective action
+ Locates and corrects power failures and short circuits
+ Support to Production to maintain Safe and Productive processes
+ Electrical troubleshooting and repairs (Including but not limited to PLC troubleshooting and repair)
+ Performs duties without close supervision; capable of coordinating and completing projects, on occasion with outside contractors
+ Maintain “ALL” emergency lighting and related equipment
+ Committed to providing a safe food product
+ Works within all regulatory requirements
+ Ability to adhere to GMP & HACCP practices and all other food safety requirements
+ Perform all other related duties as required
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Requirements:
+ Vocational school training in advanced electronics
+ High degree of precision working within minimum tolerances required. High degree of attention and care required preventing injury to others when responsible for flow of electrical power. Will be exposed to high voltage electricity
+ Strong electrical experience (at least 3-5 years)
+ Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams
+ Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting
+ Ability to troubleshoot machine controls and motors with and without wiring diagrams
+ Experience in electrical voltage in AC from 24V to 480V
+ Experience troubleshooting, wiring and repairing PLC’s
+ Experience with maintaining and programming AC variable speed drives
+ Must be able to perform basic mathematical equations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) including simple algebra involving 1 variable
+ Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision or as part of a team to resolve complex maintenance issues
+ Must be able to communicate appropriately with Supervisors and Co-Workers (Both written and verbal reports are required)
+ Must be a results oriented individual who thrives on situations involving pressure
+ Must be able to pass an approved test of advanced electricity and PLC principles, or otherwise demonstrate a high level of proficiency in these areas
+ Must have the ability to access all areas of the factory including the sugar silos
+ Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
