Electrician
**Some of what you'll be doing:** As a Electrician in our Aviation Maintenance department you will perform electrical maintenance, operation and installation work at SeaTac International Airport. + You will be responsible for operation, installation and maintenance of all medium voltage substations. + You will be conducting maintenance breakers, vaults, cables and terminations, power centers, power and lighting panels, airfield lighting, emergency generation, HVAC motor controls, PLC, watt hour and demand metering. + You will be responsible for automated monitoring and control systems, fault indicators, capacitors, regulators and surge suppression devices. + You will be working with multiple other skilled crafts to replace, repair and maintain electrical systems. + You will be troubleshooting and repairing of electrical equipment. **Who you are:** + **Experienced** – You have two (2) years of experience as a journey level electrician or equivalent in an industrial environment. + **Licenses/Certification** – You possess a valid Washington State EL01 Electricians Certificate and have completed a Washington State electrical apprenticeship or equivalent. + **Desired** – We hope you have five (5) years working experience as a journey level electrician in an industrial environment and/or possess a cable splicer certification, welder certification, PLC certification. + **Technical** – You have a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, OSHA, WISHA and safety requirements. + **Communication** – You have excellent verbal, written and active listening skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. + **Adaptability** – You can work effectively in a high stress environment with many deadlines, unresolved situations, frequent changing priorities, delays and unexpected events while staying calm under pressure. + **Critical Thinking** – You have the ability to utilize critical thinking and judgment in defining, analyzing and resolving problems. **What else you need to know:** + **Driver’s License** – You will need a valid Washington State Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one, is required in order to travel locally to project sites. + **Work Schedule** – You may be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. You may be required to work during emergencies. This position is subject to a 9-month probationary period. During the 9-month probationary training period, each workday may be spent on day, swing and graveyard shifts in three-month increments before bidding for a permanently assigned shift. + **Work Environment** – You will generally work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. You may be exposed to areas of high noise, various hazardous materials, work at heights and/or in confined spaces. + **Washington State Residency Requirement** – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State. + **Overtime Eligible** – You are eligible for overtime pay in this role. + **Safety Requirements** – You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. + **Security Requirements** – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance. You may also be required to obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Customs Seal within 30 days of hire. In this role, you will be required to access Port of Seattle Police Department equipment, office locations, systems and/or vehicles.
