Overview of the Role 

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the routine/preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of processing, manufacturing, and packaging equipment. 

Schedule: TBD – must be available to work days and nights

Salary: $36.15 - $42.55/hour

****Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.****

How you will make contributions that matter: 

Carries out preventative maintenance on assigned equipment Trouble shoots and repairs equipment in breakdown situations Carries out equipment installations and modifications as required Repair parts in shop  Work effectively in a processing environment without jeopardizing food safety Follow company policies and safety standards Works with other trades groups to complete project assignments Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager 

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:  

Trades license, late term apprentice, or similar technical background Proven experience with process equipment in a manufacturing setting Food industry or high-speed packaging experience Pneumatics and hydraulics knowledge  Excellent trouble shooting and analytical skills Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation Welding experience is an asset Boiler, refrigeration and air handling systems experience is an asset Electrical experience is an asset PLC training and experience is an asset  Ability to work independently with minimum supervision High level of self-motivation and initiative Excellent written and oral communication skills Dependable with a good attendance and safety record in current position Available to work afternoon and night shifts, weekends and overtime as required Available to switch shifts at short notice to replace absent workers
