Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Electrician Helper.
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for assisting shop foreman to perform duties peculiar to and normally required by the trade of an electrician. Follows procedures and techniques of the electrical trade throughout the Medical Center.
Job Responsibilities:
Assists mechanic with all repair, test, replace and install electrical circuits and equipment. Assists to examine and tests elements of electrical systems to locate obvious faults, such as blown fuses, defective transformers, inoperative relays, short circuits, broken wires, loose connections, worn motor brushes and inoperative motor starters. Assists in replacing faulty switches, sockets, plugs, fuses, insulators, gears, brushings, bearings, wires and other elements of elements of electrical systems, fixtures and appliances. Assists with the installation of various types of conduits, electrical devices, motors, lighting fixtures and heating equipment.Takes responsibility along with the mechanic in understanding all electrical symbols. Able to assist in reading and writing electrical symbols. Accurately assist in reading and understanding all electrical drawing as requested by foreman.Assists mechanic with replacements of all electrical systems, fixtures and appliances faulty switches, sockets, plugs, fuses, insulators, gears, brushings, bearings, wires and other elements of elements of electrical systems. Follows guidance and directions regarding trade techniques when working with assigned mechanic. Performs other related duties as assigned by the foreman.Assists with installation of various types of electrical equipment conduits, electrical devices, motors, lighting fixtures and heating equipment. Assists in replacing 110v receptacles, switches and florescent ballasts. Assists in replace light bulbs and tubes. Assists in repair light fixtures. Assists to investigate status of equipment. Assists in replacing fuses (low voltage). Assists to checks outlets; trace electric circuits, etc.Assists mechanic and foreman with inventory of material use for specific jobs, supplies management and estimates materials, time expand and material as needed by foreman and management.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalentTwo years of experience working in the electrical pneumatic tube trade or, at the discretion of the hiring manager, Construction, Real Estate, Architectural, Facilities or Health Care organization.At the discretion of the hiring manager, trade school or NYULH maintenance worker experience may reduce the requirements to zero years experience.Preferred Qualifications:
Trade school degreeQualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $79,690.89 - $79,690.89 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
