Focus: The Electrician - HVAC is responsible for performing remedial repairs, preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
Electrician - HVAC Essential Job Functions: Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment. Connect heating or air conditioning equipment to fuel, water, or refrigerant source to form complete circuit. Adjust system controls to settings recommended by manufacturer to balance system. Recommend, develop, or perform preventive or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, oiling parts, or changing filters. Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions. Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring. Overhaul large air conditioning compressors. Check and adjust superheat and sub-cooling on air conditioning system. Electrician - HVAC Minimum Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age Must meet (1) one of the following requirements: 3 years recent and relevant experience; diagnosis and repair of air conditioning systems; OR, Electrical -HVAC certificate or diploma from an accredited trade school or vocational school; OR, Relevant military maintenance education and/ or experience in electrical - hvac. Must have the ability to braze and solder Freon lines and operate Freon reclaiming systems. Must have knowledge of basic motors and controls. Ability and willingness to work Weekends, including overtime Must possess or have the ability to obtain an EPA HVAC Certification. Must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain a government driver's license. Capable of climbing ladders to access roofs. Ability to lift, carry and push 50-150 pounds.
