Summary: 

Must be able to execute assigned electrical responsibilities encompassing general maintenance, preventive maintenance, construction, repair, and installation of a wide variety of electrical systems. Craftsmen contribute to the responsibility for safety, client satisfaction, project quality, cost control/schedule adherence, and working as a team with office and other craftsmen personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Execute assigned electrical responsibilities encompassing general maintenance, preventive maintenance, construction, repair, and installation of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment. Design, install, repair, maintain and inspect electrical systems, and equipment such as motors, fixtures, transformers, generators, wiring, switchboards, alarm systems, controllers, circuit breakers, and high voltage (277v-480V) equipment. Work from blueprints and design specifications. Able to lead small crews. And make decisions. Make single line power diagrams. Locate and diagnose electrical malfunctions using various testing instruments. Plan layout in wiring of new or remodeled installations. Make standard computations related to load requirements. Design control wiring for equipment and draws/read schematics. Follow up on construction work to ensure scheduled state and local inspection timetables are met and standards are maintained. Record field wiring changes and modifications on blueprints for recording. (redlines) Maintain shop equipment and tools. Follow all Nabholz and job specific safety procedures. Cleans, maintains and services equipment and tools. Performs additional duties or emergency duties after normal work hours when requested by supervision or designee. This job is safety sensitive for medical marijuana purposes. All other tasks as assigned.

Education/Skill Requirements:

A complete understanding and working knowledge of the current National Electrical Code, National Fire Alarm Code (NFAC preferred but not required), all State and local codes is required. Ability to understand, interpret, and utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics is required. Ability to locate and diagnose electrical malfunctions using various test instruments. Must have at least 8+ years of Commercial experience, typically attained through an apprenticeship program (4-5 Year) or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired. Journeyman or higher electrical license or Electrical degree Some computer knowledge (Word, Excel, iPad, Bluebeam, Etc.). Ability to operate a variety of power tools, shop equipment, and electrical testing instruments required. Ability to help other construction field workers perform duties normally associated work outside of electrical: Paint, Cleaning, Drywall, Carpet, Etc.

Physical Demands:

Ability to continuously sit, stand, or walk. Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift frequently. May lift and carry heavy objects 5 -25 pounds frequently, 25- 50 pounds often, 50-100 pounds occasionally. Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in awkward positions continuously

Work environment:

Skilled Laborers often work at great heights, or outdoors in all weather conditions. Some jobs expose workers to harmful materials or chemicals, fumes, odors, loud noise, or dangerous machinery. To avoid injury, workers in these jobs wear safety clothing, such as gloves, hardhats, protective chemical suits, devices to protect their eyes, respiratory system, and hearing. While working in construction, laborers must be especially alert to safely follow procedures and must deal with a variety of hazards.
