Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 4
The Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 4 is responsible for the day-to-day troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance in a refrigerated and Freezer facility with below-normal temperatures. Acts as a senior material handling technician on all equipment installed at the Mountville site location. Aids and mentors and coordinate work for lower-level employees and keep constant communication across all stakeholders.
This position will start on day shift from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and will eventually turn into a 12-hour night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

The permanent shifts will be rotating 4-3- 3-4.
Overtime and possibly weekend work may be required.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $35 to $39.50 an hour at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills. Pay is adjusted for working inside a controlled environment freezer with a temperature of –15 degrees Fahrenheit. Pay will be subject to change if a candidate chooses to transfer internally after hire to a non-freezer site.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What You Will Do in This Role 

Repair and maintenance of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belt tracking, component adjustment/replacement, component lubrication, etc.Completes preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures.Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuitry.Create and close work orders into asset management system with appropriate data to include labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.Troubleshoot conveyance problems and understand the resources needed to resolve them.Locate and track spare parts from inventory.Performs complex maintenance and equipment testing to ensure they meet specifications.Provide assistance in training customers how to operate equipment.Handle service calls and address equipment failures and faults.Identify any problems that occur and take the necessary steps to solve them.Establish and maintain positive working relationships at every level of the organization.Guide a team through a range of repair tasks.Maintain and assist in developing a team of technicians performing preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as other areas, with direction from site leadership.Perform audits of equipment and work completed during the shift or the previous shift to ensure high-quality PMs or repairs are performed.Having the ability to handle technician issues and collaborate with site leadership to address shift performance issues.Building and maintaining strong relationships and constant communication with all stakeholders, understanding their needs, and ensuring their satisfaction with Dematic solutions and services maintaining professional communication through email and in-person conversations with onsite customer leadership, Dematic leadership, and technicians.

What We Are Looking For 

High School diploma or equivalent required. Typically, an associate degree or vocational-technical training is preferred. Specialized skill training/certification preferred. Demonstrates a senior-level knowledge of 5-7 years of experience in a technical or specialty area. Successfully demonstrating position and key tasks in the area of responsibility and demonstrating proven experience in the area of responsibility as presented above.Responsible for leading projects and teams, and directing day-to-day operations and tasks to the onsite maintenance team.Able to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds each.Regularly bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds.Display complete manual dexterity in both hands and wrists.Able to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitations.Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours, and wet or uneven surfaces.Must be able to stand or walk for up to 10-12 hours.Being able to cover multiple shifts and holiday hours as needed.Must be able to evaluate and analyze System/equipment performance data.May be required to tolerate a working environment with inside controlled temperatures of –15 -20 degrees Fahrenheit and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold, and precipitation).Skilled in completing advanced root cause analysis.Lead the process of resolving design-performance issues.
