Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Northridge, CA is currently seeking an Electronic Assembler 4 professional to join our team and grow with us. Applicants must be detail oriented, calm under pressure, and well organized. Applicants must have the ability and strong desire to learn. Electronic Assembler 4 will be supporting our ARRGM and SiAW programs. This position is on-site only. Relocation assistance is not available.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected candidate will be part of a team that works closely together, so ethical and respectful team interaction and communication are of the utmost importance. Even though this position is in a team environment and set up for team success, the selected candidate will be required to work independently with little supervision. Occasional heavy lifting and occasional overtime may be required.
Primary Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, using soldering or fasteners. Read and interpret instructions, drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports.Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits.Adjust or repair electrical equipment.Perform manual assembly during the small-scale production of electronic devices used in avionic and military systems.Modify electromechanical devicesVerify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to blueprint specifications, using instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.Populate or modify/replace components on printed circuit board assemblies.Mount assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits and sockets on chassis panels.Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.Build products such as electric motors, computers, electronic control devices, and sensing equipment.Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points, using soldering, or related bonding procedures and equipment.Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies.May perform assembly operations under microscope or other magnifying device.Set up and operation of automatic equipment, power tools, and hand toolsMaintaining neat and organized workspacesBasic Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 6 years of electronic assembly experience using the following skills:Proficient in soldering, and experienced with Wire/Cable harness assembliesExperience with Electronic Enclosure/Control Panel AssemblyKnowledge of ISO9001 quality standards and ESD-safe proceduresUse of both hands for repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motionsAbility to lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds a few times per shiftWalking, standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, twisting, bending, and reachingAttention to detail, team player, results orientedAbility to obtain a security clearancePreferred Qualifications:
IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and/or J-STD-001 certificationsActive Secret ClearanceSalary Range: $59,300.00 - $98,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
