Electronic Engineer for PONANT

Position Description:
We are looking for experienced ELECTRONIC ENGINEER ready to join PONANT - vessel TBC
Embarkation on 30/October/2024 - temporary employment, contract 1 month and half - It could become permanent employment from the next year.

The Electronic Engineer

- Must comply with orders and instructions received from the Chief Engineer in a professional and
competent manner at all times. This may include duties not referred into the following card.
- Follows the Chief Engineer’s standing orders.
- Assists in the execution of maintenance as required by the BASS system / Maintenance Manual
under the direction of the Chief Electrician.
- Records the maintenance operations & other appropriate jobs in BASS system.
- Updates his/her spare parts inventory, and suggests orders to the Chief Engineer.
- Assists in maintaining all his/her working areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Reports to the Chief Engineer / Chief Electrician any non-conformities or hazardous occurrences
observed in the course of his duties.
- Ensure that all operational, safety, security & environmental objectives are met (EPI, pollution
prevention, risk assessment, hazardous work permits…)
- Send to Chief Engineer a cruise job report at each end of cruise.
- Can be assisted in its duties by the Electronic Officer in coordination with the Chief Electrician.
As Electronic Engineer:
He/she has particular responsibility of the maintenance of the following equipment:
· Navigation equipment ( in cooperation with the navigation Officer)
· GMDSS equipment ( in cooperation with Navigation Officer)
· ALDIS batteries measurement
· PA system Public address system (in cooperation with Safety Officer)
· Printer (repairs and cartridge)
· CCTV cameras (clean, control PTZ motors and light sensor, exchange cameras in collaboration with
the Broadcast manager who will manage soft modification if necessary)
· Lock doors card program (excluded card printer, and access of door historical)
· Computer cleaning.
· TV and Set up boxes
· FDS fire detection system (according with Safety Officer)
· ESD Emergency shut down system (according with Safety Officer)
· LLL low location light (according with Safety Officer)
· WTD water tight doors system (according with Safety Officer) batteries measurement
· Zodiacs and tender electronic part
· Crew and pax gym equipment, electronic part
· Dimming lighting in pax area
· LED lighting pax cabins, public area, decorative and architectural
· Searching light projectors
· Ice projectors
· ADA platforms
· Electronics cards and components for all equipment installed on board
· Master clock except configuration
· Safe boxes cabin pax
· Assist stage manager in maintenance and repair entertainment light and sound system and report
orders to be done to the Chief Electrician.

· Galley, pantries, bar and laundries equipment, electronic part
· Engine platform, pax, crew and service lifts, only electronic parts
· Engine room equipment only electronic part

Safety, Security & Environmental management
The Electronic Engineer :
- Follows the requirements of the SEMS and shall be fully aware of the Company Safety, Security and
Environmental Policy
- Reports any event or non-conformity liable to affect the ship and its operations, the quality, the
safety, the security or the environment.
- Is fully involved in protection of the environment at his own level
- Fills in his/her working hours record form (ALL-FLEET-1.08c) at the end of each month.
- Writes down a hand over to its substitute explaining the status of each apparatus of the engine
department, filling the form LBS-OPS-1.3b.14. This hand over should be signed by the Chief
Engineer before being presented to the Officer signing on.
- Must know perfectly his emergency duties as described in form LBS-EMCY-3.06 Emergency duties
- Takes part to different drills/instruction.
