Plans and lays out work from electrical and electronic block diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical orders. 2. Performs pretest, operational (functional), and final testing; final tuning; alignment; and/or calibration of highly complex electronic systems, components, and/or subassemblies. 3. Installs, overhauls, repairs, fabricates, and/or modifies electronically controlled industrial systems, components, and/or subassemblies. 4. Performs preventive maintenance on electronic control systems to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration. 5. Utilizes safety and security practices and procedures following established rules and regulations and maintains a safe, clean, and secure work environment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2600. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc Use of Test Equipment: Electronics Theory of Electronics Ability To Use Hand and Power Tools -Electronics Trouble shooting (Electronic Equipment) Ingenuity (Ability To Suggest and Apply New Methods) In this position you will be primarily assigned to perform EMCS daily operations and after-hours emergency service functions. Primary EMCS duties include, but are not limited to: independently troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, install, and program HVAC industrial control systems; monitoring/reviewing EMCS HVAC control systems remotely (on base from the EMCS console) to identify/respond to alarms, troubles, deviations, etc.; document actual and potential finding in after-hours emergency/turnover logs; coordinate after-hours emergency response with CE maintenance personnel, fire department, contractors, snow teams, disaster response teams, etc.; manipulate and program HVAC ICS to ensure proper operations, shutdowns, startup, scheduling, etc.; create/monitor alarms and trends to ensure proper routing through EMCS servers to network end users; complete assigned corrective and preventive maintenance on industrial controls systems installed on air handlers, boilers, chillers, heat exchangers, VAV boxes, steam generators, air compressors and many other HVAC specific equipment; perform design reviews and plan/execute installation of in-house industrial controls projects; read and interpret blueprints, schematics in order to troubleshoot ICS equipment and restore critical operations; communicate directly with Communication Squadron (CS) on network issues impacting EMCS and ICS device communications. Uses skill and knowledge to make various decisions and corrections on operating capacities, efficiency, metering, load shedding and other technical areas. Field work will be assigned/directed when required. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and calibrate systems of electronic controls, components, control systems, heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) control systems, industrial control systems and associated software. Troubleshoots, installs, repairs, calibrates and modifies industrial and HVAC control systems for proper operation. Repairs, modifies, tests, maintains, installs and troubleshoots various other types of communications equipment for proper operation. Uses tools and other equipment in a safe manner, utilizes safety practices and procedures and complies with established safety rules and regulations. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
