This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DIB MRTFB to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service About the Position: Maintenance and Demil Missile Division of the Letterkenny Munitions Center. Responsibilities Performs maintenance, repair, analysis, and calibration of electronic test equipment. Performs analysis of modification status, operation, calibration, and correlation of various missile electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic test sets. Performs electronic checkout of electronic test set prior to daily run of electronic missile components to determine the serviceability of test sets. Checks hydraulic power supply, hydraulic fluid quantity, hydraulic pressure, and air pressure prior to and during daily run of missiles. Monitors and adjusts power supplies for proper output voltages, sine wave, and frequency using voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and frequency counters. Calibrates and certifies IAW joint Air Force/Navy certification program as to the accuracy of the electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic units which comprise the missile test sets. Places missile components on test sets and makes all appropriate electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic connections. Required to sign Air Force and Navy forms and records, prepares reports, statistical charts, graphs, and documents analysis of missile components and test sets. Performs other duties as assigned. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronic Measurement Equipment Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision. Troubleshooting, repair and calibrate various missile, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic test systems. Use specialized test equipment such as; oscilloscopes, frequency counters, spectrum analyzers, digital voltmeters, phase gain meters, audio and RF generators, microwave power meters, DC calibrators, pressure gages, variable transformers, multimeters, maintenance calibration kits, power supplies, pressure test kits, microwave counters. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work assignments require light to moderate physical effort. Lifts, carries, or otherwise handles items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally in excess of 40 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and stooping is required. WORKING CONDITIONS: Majority of work is performed inside heated buildings with occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. Works on concrete floors in areas subject to high frequency noise, cuts, bruises, and burns or shocks caused by high electrical voltage.
