The Electronic Resources Specialist works within a team environment to support electronic resource workflows in technical services systems. The supported workflows include the following:
-Support for the acquisition of electronic resources by updating purchase orders and invoices, and by using procurement processes to record invoices
-Support of electronic collections by reviewing and updating resource coverage dates, activating and testing new or existing resources, and updating portfolios and bibliographic records in electronic collections
-Receiving and reviewing access problem reports
-Communicating with vendors, colleagues, and library users
The Electronic Resource Specialist works with team members to apply best practices to electronic resource work. Flexibility with changing technology, clear communication, and a desire to work closely with colleagues to troubleshoot problems is important for success in this position.
