Summary You will serve as a Electronic Security System Mechanic in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST. Responsibilities You will use test equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, transistor tester, logic comparator, volt-ohm meter, special purpose test set) to install and repair electronic equipment. You will use electronic amplifiers, processors, filters, bridges, or other electronic devices to transform electro-acoustical, electro-mechanical, or electro-optical devices into digital signals. You will use electronic operating principles to install, test, and repair fire or security alarm systems. You will perform work on intercommunications systems (e.g., building intercoms, portable public address systems) to maintain operability. You will perform installation, repair, fabrication, and modification on sensor subsystems and logic subsystems. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
