Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Technician III
Summary

The Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Technician III applies technical knowledge to maintain legacy security management systems and solve issues to include a variety of subsystems within the Electronic Security System (ESS), Intrusion Detection System (IDS), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) System, Video Recording System, Intercom System, Public Address System, Fiber Optic Communications Network, Access Control Systems, and Asset Tracking System. 

 


Responsibilities

Read, interpret electrical schematics and architectural drawingsRead blueprint and design plans for the installation of sub-level devices (e.g., patch panels, junction boxes) on large or complex jobs and head end equipment on small or less complex jobsRead and understand component level schematic diagrams for systems, equipment and devicesIdentify appropriate cables from drawings and running cables/fiber per installation design plansRepair and maintain electronic security system equipmentTest continuity of conductor(s) or breaks in fiberTerminate basic connections such as butt splices, insulated connectors, terminal strips/blocks and BNC connectorsMount and terminate field devices (e.g., Readers, Door Contacts, REXs, Cameras)Install and terminating sub-level devices (e.g., patch panels, junction boxes) on large or complex jobs and head end equipment on small or less complex jobs to include power and proper groundingTerminating and testing voice, data connections, and administering IP addressesPerform field verification testingOther duties as assigned. 
Qualifications

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

 

At least three years’ experience in non-residential electronics installation & troubleshooting is required with a high school degree; OrAt least five years’ experience onsite training on CCTV and Access Control Systems; OrLENEL OnGuard 7.3 access control certification or equivalent in certifications such as (Lenel Certification, C-Cure Certification or Training, or other training, etc.)At least two active certifications from the following OEM list: Morpho Detection Itemizer; Smiths Detection X-Ray Hiscan; CEIA Walk-Through Metal Detectors; Delta & Koei Vehicle Barrier; Panasonic Analog CCTV Systems; IP CCTV Systems; Pathminder Turnstiles; or equivalent OEM certifications. (Preferred but not required)Must hold an active Public Trust clearance or higher (TS, TS/SCI, etc.).

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office productsMust be proficient with Test Equipment (i.e. TDR, OTDR)Must have skill level III Hand Tools (a complete list of required tools will be provided)
Estimated Salary/Wage

Up to USD $38.00/Hr.
