The Electronics and Controls Engineer would support a Pratt Miller internal program competing in the IMSA WeatherTech Championship. This position would have both shop based and trackside responsibilities. This position would work within a cross functional team to operate, maintain, and develop the systems and their performance. An extensive background in motorsports data, electronics, and controls is a requirement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Vehicle Data and Electronic Systems
Design and integration of vehicle electronics and control systems:
Specify harness, instrumentation, and electronic component requirementsResponsible for system maintenance, device programing and setupDevelop and maintain system communication protocols and documentationComplete necessary reporting and documentationMaintenance and operation of vehicle control and data acquisition systems:
Trackside and shop-based analysis, optimization, and maintenance of vehicle controls and data acquisition systemsSimulation and testing of feature developmentsDocument requested development, integration, and feedbackMaintain a feature timeline and development planThese control systems include, but are not limited to:Traction controlBraking controlClutch controlHybrid system controlDriver feedback and dash systemsHigh voltage systemsScrutineering systemsEmbedded fuel/energy consumption strategiesInteraction between Chassis and Powertrain SystemsSimulation and hardware in the loop integrationTrackside / Support Execution
Race and Test Event support
Race and test event support when requiredRace and testing support duties could include but not limited to:Data review related to vehicle system and instrumentation operationOptimization of controls system to improve vehicle performanceTelemetry monitoring for performance and reliabilityProgramming of data acquisition and control systemsData downloading and distributionVerification, maintenance and replacement of instrumentation and electronics equipmentAssisting in setup and teardown of equipmentOther various activities suited to skill setTeam Member Interactions
This role will interface heavily with a large cross functional team. Overall communication and interaction are expected to be handled in a collaborative manner for the overall improvement of performance and execution.

$78,400.00 - $121,500.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations.
