We have an exciting opportunity for a Electronics Component Engineer - EEE Parts for NASA xEVA Space Projects to join the team with JETS II Teammate Company, Nexus Solutions.\n

If selected, you will:\n\nReport directly to the Electronics and Electrical Section Manager as part of group of 50\nOther Electronics and Electrical Engineers\nProvide Electrical, Electronic and Electromagnetic (EEE) parts support to the NASA xEVA Space Projects\nEvaluate proposed EEE Parts lists with respect to the projects specific hardware criticality and environments\nReport on the manufacturers, materials, construction, usage (environment & electrical de-rating), and overall reliability of the selected parts to the EEE parts control board (PCB)\nRecommend replacement EEE parts\nAssist in EEE parts failure investigations\nReview Military and industry EEE parts specifications, standards and studies for application to NASA programs\nAssist in the development of EEE part qualification plans, project specific screening requirements, and Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPAR)\nWork in a laboratory environment as required, following standard operating procedures\nPerform other duties as required and assigned\n\nQualifications\n

Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.\n\nRequires a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area\nSupporting design reviews and product development teams\nUnderstanding of component selection, screening, qualification, and derating for use in space flight applications\nProviding technical support to material review boards (MRB's)\nSupporting project teams in EEE related activities including review and generation of project related documents such as procurement specifications and source control drawings (SCDs)\nAssist in preparation, analysis and distribution of NASA Advisories and Government Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) Alerts. \nAssist in part selection and obsolescence review\nDevelopment of part specifications and test procedures for space level parts\nProvide technical assistance to contracted tests labs and part manufacturers\nProvide customer\/project team applications assistance\nReview electrical test data to verify part \/ lot acceptability\n\n

Requisition Preferences: \n\nKnowledge of component failure modes, component reliability and NASA component specifications and standards\nUnderstanding of passive components, microcircuit, hybrid, semiconductor and discrete device fabrication\nPrior experience with accelerated reliability testing, reliability theory and component failure analysis\nKnowledge of the EEE parts used in high reliability military\/DoD or space hardware and the associated US military test specifications and standards\nExperience with the development of EEE parts management plans, destructive physical analysis (DPA), and parts failure analysis desired\nStrong background in Electronic Engineering including knowledge of EEE parts, technologies and manufacturing processes\nExperience with product development, pre-production activity, and product life cycle\nExpertise in developing the ionization radiation test plan based on mission objectives and desired reliability\nConduct ionization radiation test based on the test plan and publish test result report\nSourcing background in electronics industry and supply chain experience with electrical technologies and part manufacturers\nProficient in MS Office programs, particularly MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote and Outlook\nExcellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment\n
