Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Electronics Engineer OR Principal Electronics Engineer – Field Service Representative to join our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization supporting Missions Systems IPT. 

The candidate will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment working closely with other engineers and technicians in a lab-like environment to integrate, test, and troubleshoot software/hardware systems in complex IT systems.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Provide software, hardware, and system support to on-site end-users as well as engineering technical support for peer teams.Engineer and test new technical solutions in lab environments, technical requirements and/or bug fixesUse application of extensive technical expertise to support a developing system.Integrate and install system cabling and rack equipment IAW engineering specificationsSupport the IPT with software defect resolution and enhancement efforts.Develop and maintain Microsoft PowerShell scripts, Bash and Python scripts, and Microsoft Group PoliciesWork with storage systems and basic networking, Solaris 10 and 11, Oracle OEM, Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, VMware ESXi, Vmware, and vCenterScript deployments of Microsoft Windows Server and Workstation and Solaris 10 and 11 operating systemsMaintain COTS Hardware, Software configuration matrix, technical installation, configuration and update proceduresAutomate installation of COTS softwareDocumenting and maintaining system configurationsMaintain compatibility with existing architectures when implementing system enhancementsImplement engineering changes to the system as requiredDesign and implement VMware high-availability virtualized infrastructuresRelease CM controlled documentation, scripts, and COTS software media

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility.  There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. This position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

This position may be filled at either the Electronics Engineer – Field Service Representative or Principal Electronics Engineer – Field Service Representative level, depending upon the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications for Electronics Engineer – Field Service Representative:

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience.Demonstrated experience with Windows and Unix operating systemsDemonstrated experience with VmWareAbility to obtain and maintain CompTIA Security+ Certificate. This certificate must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs. (Of note: SAP/PAR will be upgraded once selected candidate is in role. Therefore, candidate must also be able to obtain and maintain upgraded SAP/PAR.)

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline.Demonstrated experience with Windows and Unix operating systemsDemonstrated experience with VmWareAbility to obtain and maintain CompTIA Security+ Certificate. This certificate must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00Salary Range 2: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
