GDIT is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Electrical Engineer to support the development and integration of electrical systems for naval defense applications, specifically focusing on the MK 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) in Port Hueneme, California. The ideal candidate will assist in system design, testing, and troubleshooting while ensuring compliance with industry and military standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the electrical design, integration, and testing of the MK 41 VLS and related subsystems.
Support system architecture development, including power distribution, control systems, and communication interfaces.
Perform electrical and electronic component analysis, circuit design, and schematic development.
Work closely with software, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration.
Conduct troubleshooting, diagnostics, and performance testing of electrical systems.
Assist in developing technical documentation, including system schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.
Ensure compliance with relevant military and industry standards
Participate in design reviews and contribute innovative solutions to enhance system performance and reliability.
Support laboratory and field-testing activities, including system verification and validation.
Qualifications & Skills:
US Citizen
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
0-2 years of relevant experience (internships or co-op experience in defense or aerospace preferred).
Skill to design, verify, and test electrical designs and electronic circuits
Ability to produce well written technical documentation
Capable of working and communicating in a cross functional team
Experience with power meters and oscilloscopes
Knowledge of communication/power cables, integrated circuits, and coding software
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to MK 41 VLS design, integration, or maintenance.
Experience with naval combat systems, weapons integration, or fire control systems.
Hands-on experience with electrical testing and measurement equipment.
