ELECTRONICS EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR
Summary This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONICS EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR, Position Description Number D1207000 and is part of the NJ CSMS 1, National Guard. The purpose of the position is to inspect the repair of electronics equipment to ensure that physical and operating characteristics are within acceptable standards and specifications. Responsibilities As a ELECTRONICS EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR, WG-2604-12, you will: Repair or replace chassis mounted components. Isolate and diagnose cause of circuit/component malfunction. Conduct inspection, diagnose nature and extent of equipment malfunction. Perform initial and final checks and may perform inspections when required on equipment being repaired. Inspector on a Command Maintenance Evaluation Team (COMET) on electronic, automation, communication, and equipment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Additional Employment Requirements: -Participation in direct deposit is mandatory -May be required to successfully complete a probationary period -Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation -Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service Areas of Consideration: CAT 3: ALL NJ ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERS Military Grades: E-5/SGT to E-7/SFC Applicant(s) (Enlisted) who are over grade must clearly state, in their resumes, their intentions to willingly take a reduction in grade Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Compatible Military Assignments Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a *military unit* compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position. *Military Unit* -- The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1) Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have general experience in the follow: Knowledge of electrical or electronic theory, and testing procedures Using hand tools of the electronics trade, and skill in reading schematics SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 18 months specialized experience in the following: Utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment Diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems Making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment Using complex test equipment such as deviation meters, complex special test panels, etc Demonstrating the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications Education EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS There are no education requirements for this vacancy announcement Additional Information If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/1959 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency (https://www.sss.gov/RegVer/wfRegistration.aspx).
