SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position is responsible for the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and medication of industrial electronic/electrical components, parts, equipment, and systems. This position may also perform general maintenance duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Develop electrical/electronic parts lists and schematics for new manufacturing equipment.
+ Develops and improves programmable logic control ladder logic for new and existing equipment.
+ Develops and improves human-machine interface software for new and existing equipment.
+ Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
+ Recommends changes in circuitry or electronic/electrical specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
+ Train and develop Electronic Maintenance employees to achieve higher levels.
+ General maintenance activities which may involve installation, troubleshooting and repair of equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding and steam.
+ Must use frequent physical effort to perform job duties. At times work may require elevated physical capability
+ Able to foster professionalism with all associates along with internal and external customers
+ Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
+ Participate on project teams, star point teams and kaizen events when needed.
+ Attend and participate in all training opportunities required to develop in the role
+ Develop training programs and train existing and new maintenance employees in electromechanical duties
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
2-year technical degree in electrical field or equivalent
Experience:
Previous experience in manufacturing preferred
Preferred Skills/ Qualifications:
+ Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
+ Sound decision making skills
+ Good math, reading and writing skills
+ Be able to exercise continuous mental, visual, and audio attention
Skills/ Competencies:
1. Basic computer skills
2. Vision: Near acuity and accommodation for reading information to perform job tasks
3. Requires constant alertness to surroundings and product quality with attention to detail
4. Must be able to operate material handling equipment and hoist, if needed
Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to operate material handling equipment
+ Ability to work in hot temperatures during the summer
+ Occasional crawling and / or climbing
+ Ability to work in indoor and outdoor conditions
+ Occasional assignments working at heights.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/ SCOPE:
+ Report directly to Facilities Specialist
+ Work closely with other departments to resolve issues with the processes & equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The employee may be subject to:
+ High noise levels from operating machines and equipment
+ Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels
+ Exposure to nuisance fumes and dust
+ Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, high visibility clothing)
+ Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis
+ Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions
+ Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime
