Summary You will serve as a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC in the Towed Array Systems Repair Shop (67T), Command and Control Systems (CCS) Digital Repair Division (Code 720), Weapons Repair Department (Code 700), TRIDENT Refit Facility (TRIREFFAC), Kings Bay, GA of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY. Responsibilities You will modify equipment by adding, altering, and removing components to standardize or alter the purpose of the equipment . You will make adjustments, alignments, and locate problems in the equipment and bring equipment up to required specifications. You will test, troubleshoot, analyze, overhaul, rebuild, align, maintain, modify, calibrate, and replace the Towed Array Handling Systems, and remove and load Towed Arrays, towed cables and pendant cables. You will utilize test equipment such as: Oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ohmeters, impedance bridge, megohmmeter, random noise generator, DC power supply, RF generators, step attenuator, and associated system/subsystems test equipment. You will effectively evaluate the proper operational characteristics of towed array handling systems and subsystems. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: Experience working with control work packages (CWP), formal work packages (FWP), and quality assurance (QA) within the electronics repair department. Experience coordinating repairs, modifications, testing, and alignments with other shop personnel and trades to obtain proper interfacing with other systems and subsystems. Experience utilizing test equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ohmmeter's, spectrum analyzers, advanced Dual Towed Array Simulator II (ADTAS II), Radio Frequency (RF), selective frequency analyzer, impedance bridge, capacitance bridge, pneumatic pressure test set, megohmmeter, random noise generator, DC power supply, RF generators, step attenuator, and associated systems/subsystems test equipment. Experience conducting tests and analyzing equipment performance to isolate malfunctions to verify conformance to specifications. Experience troubleshooting, overhauling, repairing, modifying, testing, aligning, and adjusting complex electronic equipment and components in integrated systems or subsystems. Light to moderate physical exertion is required in lifting/carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally lifting up to 110 pounds with assistance. Eyesight must be corrected to normal and color perception is required for identifying color-coded electrical components. The position requires long periods of standing, climbing, stooping, and moving in/out of areas of close confinement.
